Jonglim Han

Jonglim Han, Ms. J, is the Dow STEM Scholars Program Director located in Bessey Hall. Jonglim has worked at Michigan State University since 2003 and has been with the Dow STEM Scholars Program since its beginning with their first cohort in 2015. She has her BA in American Culture, emphasis in Minority Studies and her MA in Student Affairs Administration. SPARTANS WILL|© Michigan State University|

What is your favorite spot on campus (and why)?

Breslin, because that is the place where I get to see my students graduate and walk across the stage!

If you had to give your college-aged self some advice, what would you say?

Ask for help, doing it alone doesn't mean you are smarter. Ask for help and seek it out. There are so many opportunities and resources but no one is going to place them in your lap. You have to be willing to grab them. Work smarter not harder!

Where did you go to college/university? What's one thing that stands out about your college experience?

University of Michigan. Like most institutions of higher education, they were not made for students of color therefore institutional barriers exist. It is upon those who advocate for student success to be intentional with advising, programming, and outreach, etc., to ensure we are doing our best to support all of our students' successes.
