Spartan Voice is a recurring survey that gives Michigan State University undergraduate students an opportunity to share their experiences, perspectives, and needs. Surveys focus on timely topics related to the undergraduate experience and often include open-ended questions so students can share in their own words what is working well and where they see opportunities for improvement.
Results help MSU understand emerging needs and trends and inform programs, services, and decision-making across the university. By sharing their perspectives through Spartan Voice, students contribute to ongoing efforts to improve the undergraduate student experience at MSU.

What students can expect
Spartan Voice surveys are sent to undergraduate students by the Office of Undergraduate Education and focus on timely topics related to the student experience at MSU.
When you receive a Spartan Voice survey:
- Check your MSU email. Survey invitations are sent directly to all enrolled undergraduate students from UndergraduateEducation@msu.edu.
- Plan for about 3 – 5 minutes. Spartan Voice surveys are designed to be brief and easy to complete.
- Expect different topics. Each survey focuses on a small number of topics relevant to undergraduate students and may include questions about your experiences, needs, priorities, or perspectives.
- Tell us what you think. Surveys often include open-ended questions where you can share feedback in your own words.
- Your responses help us learn. The information you share with us will be paired with institutional data and used to better understand and improve the undergraduate experience at MSU.
- You could receive $25 in Spartan Cash. For each Spartan Voice survey, 15 students who complete the survey will be selected to receive $25 in Spartan Cash. Information about incentives and eligibility will be included in your survey invitation.
