Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education Search

In spring 2026, Provost McIntyre charged a search committee to work with Witt Kieffer to conduct a competitive search for the next Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education. Since the initial charge, the search committee has reviewed and considered candidates for the position, identifying finalists for campus visits that will happen Sept. 23 – Oct. 6, 2026.

Details for each candidate will be shared one business day prior to their campus visit and can be accessed via the search webpage. Please note as you prepare to meet the candidates to take a minute to review the profile for this position, to familiarize yourselves with the responsibilities and qualifications of the position.

The search committee encourages you to engage with the candidates for the Vice Provost and Dean position by attending each candidate’s public presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. While we strongly encourage in-person attendance for the public presentations, they will be live-streamed, recorded, and, after processing, will be available on a password-protected MSU website (more details to come). Calendar invites will not be sent for the public presentations. The dates, times, and locations are provided below. We ask that you please mark your calendars with these presentation dates/times.

Although there will be a remote option for these presentations, we strongly encourage in-person participation whenever possible to make a good impression on the candidates and to ensure they have ample opportunity to learn about Undergraduate Education at MSU.

The search committee encourages you to provide us with feedback on each finalist. An electronic survey will be provided to collect your feedback about each finalist; those will be released following each public presentation and will be available for you to submit your feedback for approximately one week following the on-campus interview. After the final candidate’s survey has been open for a week, we will re-open all surveys for any last-minute submissions.
