On Monday September 20th 300 people gathered both in person in the Kellogg Center and on Zoom for our first hybrid format Student Success Launch. The format was a great success and we hope to continue to offer both in-person and online opportunities for attending Launch in the future. Attendees represented over 100 different departments and included both brand new Spartans and folks who have worked at MSU for over 20 years, as well as vice presidents and deans, all the way through to entry level staff. The best part of Launch is how it brings people from all across MSU together to engage in student success work and meet new collaborators and partners. Thank you to all who gave their time to be with us.
This year, we focused on the newly released DEI Report and Plan as well as the Inclusive Campus Initiative that Student Affairs and Services and Residential and Hospitality Services are leading. We spent time engaging in what we can do at the individual level as well as the unit/division level to meet the goals of the DEI report and plan as well as the student demands of the Inclusive Campus Initiative. We also discussed what MSU as a whole needs to do to be a more inclusive campus focused on closing our opportunity gaps so that we can reach our 86% graduation rate goal from the new Strategic Plan: Empowering Excellence, Advancing Equity, and Expanding Impact.
For those who were not able to attend, you can see a recording of the Student Success Launch here.
