The planning committee will work to make sure that participants are still able to contribute their thoughts and ideas related to student success.

Report from Assistant Dean Renata Opoczynski

I’ve had a few folks email to ask if we will still be doing Student Success Launch this year. Many have also expressed a desire to get together to talk about how to support students in the current environment with colleagues and leaders. So I wanted to take a moment to let you all know, YES! we will still hold Launch on September 21st. However, like many things in the fall, The Student Success Launch will have to look different this year. But no matter the format, the core goals and purpose will be the same. We will still come together to talk about the state of student success at MSU and how we can work together to support students in the current environment. We will just have to do so over video and with our own coffee mugs and snacks.

The planning committee will work to make sure that participants are still able to contribute their thoughts and ideas related to student success. We had good success with Slido last year, and given COVID-19 we have a plethora of virtual communication platforms to utilize this year. We will still work to make sure you are able to connect with colleagues outside of your own unit who are also engaged in student success work in small group conversations. However, given the virtual format and how often we are all in virtual meetings, we have shortened the event to only 9:00-10:30a.m. We hope you are able to join us and invite you to register at this link: https://msu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8euTRohyhYzG9Ol

We want to hear from all our campus partners their ideas regarding student success and Launch. On the registration link there is space for you to share your thoughts on what we should do and/or discuss as part of Launch and also an opportunity to participate in the planning committee. We hope you take a few minutes to share your thoughts. As always, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me at opoczyns@msu.edu or find me on Teams!
