September 2023 Action Items and Resources for Students

The following email was sent to all MSU undergraduates and contains action items and resources. It is reposted here for your convenience.

Spartans,

It has been a great start to the academic year, and we hope you are settling into your fall semester of learning and growing. For our incoming students, we send a monthly email of action items and resources from across campus to help you. For our returning and more seasoned students, these emails serve to remind you of the action items and resources we have to offer.

Highlights

1) Take care of yourself and others.

  • Support your physical and emotional transition to MSU with Student Health and Wellness.
  • Download the SafeMSU App, official app of MSU Police and Public Safety! Use the “virtual friend walk” to share your location in real-time, access Safe Ride from ASMSU and more.

2) Engage in your academic experience.

3) Find your way and make connections.

4) Get involved outside the classroom.

5) Connect with important resources.

6) Billing and financial aid updates.

  • The Student Accounts Office will not be able to discuss your account with anyone unless they are authorized guests.
  • Update guest access in SIS via the “My Profile” tile > “Share My Info Electronically” in the left navigation. Authorized guests will receive emails in the future whenever a new bill is produced.
  • Your financial aid package may not be complete until you finalize any outstanding items. Verify you are viewing the August 2023-May 2024 tab to act for the upcoming aid year. If actions on your financial aid portal homepage are listed as “Completed” or “Not Required,” no further action is needed.
  • Questions about your financial aid? Email finaid@msu.edu or call 517-353-5940.

If you have any questions about anything related to MSU, please email sle@msu.edu.

Thank you for being part of what makes Michigan State University such a great place to learn and thrive! Best of luck with your studies this semester. Let us know if we can help you in any way.

Sincerely,

Vennie Gore
