Spring semester is well underway. University Advising and the Leadership and Professional Development team are looking forward to another engaging semester.

University Advising

University Advising is happy to welcome Stratton C. Lee, III as the new director of University Advising. Stratton will supervise our three associate directors, Freddie DeRamus (PACES – Public Services, Arts & Culture, Communication, Education, Social Sciences and Humanities); Debra Thornton (Business and Innovation); and Justin Landis (Health Sciences and the Agricultural, Environment and STEM group). Due to the shift in responsibilities, please ensure NSO questions go to Dr. Portia Watkins and her team unless the question is specifically regarding advising and enrollment during NSO, which should be directed to Dr. Ebony Green.

We would like to thank Jonelle Golding for being an integral part of establishing University Advising over the past few years. Jonelle has transitioned to work on special projects with the Office of Undergraduate Education.

University Advising is kicking off our Major Spotlight Series Tuesday, Feb. 4, Feb. 11, and Feb. 18. Please encourage any student that is striving to find their major home to attend.

Additional Updates

Reminder: Michigan State University has adopted and fully implemented the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).  Effective Aug.16, 2024, MSU implemented a new policy that clarifies how the MTA will be applied to transfer students' undergraduate general university requirements. This is a new policy and supersedes the previous MACRAO transfer agreement.
