Celebrating National Transfer Student Week 2024

Saturday, Oct. 19-Saturday, Oct. 26
National Transfer Student Week Ice Cream & Shake

Stop by the MSU Dairy Store during National Transfer Student Week (NTSW) to purchase a scoop of Transfer Week Cookie Dough ice cream or a NTSW Shake.   

Tuesday, Oct. 22, 12-4 p.m.
Career Professional Development Day
Student Services Building, room 113
Join us for assistance developing professional skills and documents. We will have donuts and apple cider for all to enjoy while providing one-on-one assistance with resumes, setting up a LinkedIn, Handshake usage, and other career questions. We will also be offering free professional profile pictures (students can borrow professional attire from our Career Closet for the photo, so no need to bring extra clothing)! Please register ahead of time using this Handshake link. Due to it being Fall Break, there will be complimentary parking in Ramp 6 on this day!

Transfer Student Community Dinner
STEM Teaching and Learning Facility, room 2130

Join us for an evening of good food, community building, and resource sharing as we connect and celebrate all MSU transfer students. This first-ever National Transfer Student Week Transfer Student Community Dinner is hosted by the Transfer Student Success Center (TSSC). Residential and off-campus transfer students, and MSU employees are invited to attend and prior registration is required. Register for the community dinner.

Lansing Community College/MSU Transfer Success Event 
LCC Gannon Building, Room 2214

LCC & MSU staff from both Envision Green and the Transfer Student Success Center will facilitate a transfer information session with prospective transfer students. The event will also include a student panel consisting of MSU Transfer Student Advisory Board (TSAB) members, sharing their experiences transitioning to MSU, building community, and asserting student agency within their academic program planning. Register for the LCC/MSU Transfer Success event.
 
Saturday, Oct. 26, 7-9:30 p.m.
National Transfer Student Week Away Game Tailgate
MSU Union Ballroom

The College of Social Science, College of Natural Science, and College of Communication Arts & Sciences, and Transfer Student Success Center will host an Away Tailgate at the MSU Union Ballroom to cheer on our Spartans playing the University of Michigan Wolverines. Transfer students can connect with each other and professional staff about life at MSU and MSU resources across campus. The event will conclude after trivia at halftime. Pizza, sweet treats, beverages, and giveaways will be provided. A JBL speaker will be given away during halftime Trivia. Transfer students may register for the tailgate here.
   
Daily encouraging emails from MSU transfer students and faculty/staff Transfer Champions will be sent to current MSU transfer students during National Transfer Student Week.
