In collaboration with the Office of Accreditation, Assessment, Curriculum, and Compliance, the Office of Undergraduate Education leads the Undergraduate Academic Program Review process.
The APR process asks that all undergraduate academic programs continuously review and innovate on a seven-year cycle. The review process is developmental, with each unit establishing reasonable benchmarks for their progress through the review.
Areas considered as part of the APR process:
- Development of Programmatic Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
- Mapping of PLOs across the program’s required learning experiences (i.e., courses)
- Development of assessment protocols and application of assessment data to innovation
- Integration of campus DEI and global learning metrics into unit recruitment, climate, and curricular planning
- Statements related to programmatic goals and continuous improvement strategies for the next seven years.
Units who need support preparing or responding to their APR can email Jim Lucas, lucasjam@msu.edu, for assistance.
