Dr. Patrick Beatty is serving as Analytics and Outreach Coordinator for the office of the Associate Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education and is responsible for managing analytics projects related to undergraduate student success at Michigan State University. Patrick will manage MSU’s advising analytics tool (the Student Success Dashboard) which includes the student advising appointment calendar and case management system. Patrick reports to the Assistant Dean for University Advising and the Assistant Dean for Student Success Operations. He works closely and collaboratively with the academic specialist for student success initiatives, the Neighborhoods (NSSC) leadership team, advising fellows, university advising leadership and 1,000 staff using the Student Success Dashboard.

He has over twenty-five years of experience in higher education settings – collaborating with faculty and staff colleagues to improve processes and practices, all with an eye to serving students and helping them achieve their goals. Before joining the Office of the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education, Patrick served as an enterprise business analyst at Iowa State University, supporting a team of technologists implementing Workday ERP. Before that, he served fourteen years in the University Registrar’s Office of Ohio University. Patrick earned his baccalaureate degree from the University of Minnesota, his master’s degree in education from the University of Vermont, and his doctoral degree from Ohio University. Patrick, his wife, and son are thrilled to be part of this community.
