Luke David Schultheis, Ph.D., serves as the assistant dean for Student Success Initiatives & Neighborhood Student Success Collaborative (NSSC) Director.  In this role he leads an interdisciplinary team focused on academic, personal, and social success for undergraduate students in order to bring multiple perspectives from various units across campus together to directly impact student success.

Schultheis has been engaged in higher education for nearly 20 years, having served as a faculty member, chair, dean and enrollment management professional following an initial career in business. His scholarship and work are focused upon student success, especially for underserved populations. He has an extensive history of national engagement on the topic and was elected to serve a three-year term as the AACRAO Vice President for Admissions and Enrollment Management. Additionally, he is a member of the Editorial Review Board for Strategic Enrollment Management Quarterly as well as the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers Journal.  Schultheis has spent the majority of his academic career in New York City, Las Vegas and Richmond, VA where he most recently served as vice provost for Strategic Enrollment Management at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). VCU has received wide acclaim for implementing a number of innovative measures to bridge the outcomes gap as measured by graduation rates. He earned graduate degrees at New York University, Columbia University and the University of Nebraska.
